HOMES PRICED AT MORE THAN $2 MILLION ON SCATTERED LOTS IN MARKHAM WOODS

SANFORD, Fla. – For more than two generations of Floridians, “new homes built on scattered lots” signaled massive tract home developments like Deltona and Palm Bay. That was then and this is now, says Gary Rauch, vice president of Dave Brewer Inc., which ranks as one of the area’s most active builders of luxury homes priced at more than $1 million. Today, homebuyers are snatching up scattered home sites in the exclusive Markham Woods area priced at more than $2 million. Rauch said five and six acre homesteads –– in what was rural property 20 years ago –– provide the setting for homes that will cost $3 million to $7 million when completed. Nearby luxury communities such as Heathrow Woods, Alaqua and Alaqua Lakes are built out, said Rauch.
