WINNING DAVE BREWER SEES STRONG GROWTH IN SALES OF LUXURY CUSTOM

Sanford, Fla. - Dave Brewer, having built more than 500 custom, luxury executive and estate homes in central Florida over the past 25 years, is seeing sharp growth in sales of luxury custom homes. Dave Brewer, founder and president of the Sanford-based company, said luxury home sales slowed a little last year under the burden of recessionary fears and the Sept. 11 tragedy, but signs of economic recovery are leading buyers into the market. "Our sales of luxury homes have totaled more than $10 million since Jan. 1," said Brewer, who recently won the coveted Grand Award for the best custom home in the 2002 Central Florida Parade of Homes - the highest award given. At Alaqua Lakes, two spec homes sold recently just as construction got underway, one for $1.25 million and one for $1.05 million. A new home in the Enclave at Alaqua Lakes - the first in that exclusive neighborhood - sold for more than $1 million. "We are seeing a combination of factors," Brewer explained. "The economic recovery is part of it, and I think some people who put off their decision last September are motivated now. In addition, I think our cumulative efforts have reached a critical mass. The vast majority of our customers are referred to us from other customers, which means we have been doing a lot of things right and we've been doing them for a long time."
