SEMINOLE COUNTY-STYLE: MILLION-DOLLAR HOME SITES ARE GETTING SCARCE

Sanford, Fla. - Seminole County is running out of land suitable for million-dollar estate homes. That's the assessment of Dave Brewer, founder and chief executive officer of one of the largest and most active builders of luxury custom homes. Brewer, who changed the focus of his home building company about five years ago to building almost exclusively in luxury communities in north Seminole County, said the dearth of adequate community sites may force him to move outside the area within the next few years. "Heathrow, Alaqua Lakes and Alaqua will be built out in another two years and there just aren't that many luxury communities left," Brewer said. "We recently acquired the last luxury home sites in Heathrow Woods. There are only six, and they are among the last remaining one-acre homesites anywhere in the Markham Woods Road area. When they are sold, that's it." Brewer said Seminole County has been extremely successful in providing the right environment for luxury communities. "We have an excellent school system here, a good transportation network, lots of industrial development and corporate headquarters, good shopping, everything you would want," he explained. "In one sense, we are suffering from too much good planning and foresight." For more information, contact:
