SANFORD, Fla. – Dave Brewer, Inc., which builds luxury homes priced at $1 million or more, is finding new luxury homebuyers among some of its oldest customers. “ Now that their children have grown and moved away, some families who built luxury homes with us five and ten years ago are now looking for smaller, smarter homes,” said Matt Trask, business director for Dave Brewer, Inc. Within the past five months four families who built their first dream home with Dave Brewer have commissioned the custom builder again for smaller homes that will total more than $7 million in new business, Trask said. “ They want to sell their existing homes which range from 8,000 square feet of living space to 14,000 square feet, and build new luxury homes in the 5,000 square foot range with more detailed luxury finishes,” said Trask. All four of the smaller, smarter luxury homes are being built in the Longwood-Lake Mary area, Trask said. “ Economy is one reason for the downsizing but that’s not the primary motivation for building these new homes,” Trask said. “These homebuyers are looking for economies of space, facility and comfort. They want to entertain, they want to enjoy new freedoms and don’t need to maintain empty bedrooms or family rooms anymore,” he said.
